PUCCINI’S LA BOHEME
Four creatives shiver in a garret, where they cheerfully produce their avant-garde works and recognize how fulfilling their lives are, despite poverty and cold. Frederick Ballentine as poet Rodolfo and Michelle Johnson as Mimi blaze into love at first sight, and Musetta and Marcello can’t stay away from each other. Tough decisions abound, as Mimi is dying and Rodolfo can’t care for her. The artists end up back in their garret, but life reunites Musetta and Marcello as Rodolfo says a tearful goodbye to his Mimi. Join this stellar cast for some of the best opera music ever written.
Luxuriate in the lush movie music and an all-star cast telling this double love story and bromance in a fresh way. Enjoy stage art created by 2019 Nohl Fellowship winner Ras 'Ammar Nsoroma. Bronzeville expert and dramaturg Sheri Williams Pannell helps us explore this thriving-again city within our city, and the artists and citizens who built it. Original sets and artwork will bring Bronzeville alive for all of us to celebrate.
