We continue our legacy of pushing the boundaries of dance created by inventive, young choreographers in this aptly named contemporary series. Milwaukee Ballet collaborates with The Vitrolum Republic to create a new work. This triple bill also features a world premiere from Genesis 2019 winner Aleix Mañé and Extremely Close by internationally celebrated choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo.
Alejandro Cerrudo’s Extremely Close premiered at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and has since been seen on stages all around the country. Set to piano scores by Philip Glass and Dustin O’Halloran, this incomparable work uses fascinating choreography and clever set design to pull the audience into a hauntingly beautiful dream.
"A new young choreographer just made waves. Remember his name: Aleix Mañé"
