MKE Fringe Festival

Experience a Unique Selection of Artistic Talent

Local, regional, and national artists will grace stages with performances in Vogel Hall, the Peck Pavilion, and outdoor areas at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts as a part of the 2022 MKE Fringe Festival. In addition, there will be visual artists and vendors offering a wide variety of art and products.

The 2022 MKE Fringe will feature many vibrant performances, including work from KAD which is a surrealist exploration of the grieving process in which characters use poetry, movement, and music to embody the process of mourning from death to life in a reflective dreamscape. This exciting performance will be presented for MKE Fringe-goers’ delight in Vogel Hall at 2:15pm on Aug. 27.

MKE Fringe has drawn celebrated local performers and out-of-town talent alike. Highly-anticipated artists include California’s (Milwaukee- originating) Kathryn Cesarz, THE UNSUNG HARP, and Milwaukee’s Valentine 8, Walenty Speaks of Tupelo Honey.

Shows in Vogel Hall are ticketed events.
All performances and vendors at the Peck Pavilion and surrounding outdoor areas are free to attend!

Tickets are available for individual shows in Vogel Hall (1:00pm, 2:15, 4:00, 5:30, and 6:45) at $20 per show.
ALL-DAY passed are available for $50.

Virtually, art seekers will be able to access a wide variety of performances right from the comfort of their couch, or wherever they choose to watch! Virtual performances add another dimension to the MKE Fringe Festival.

Special thanks to our generous donors who make the Milwaukee Fringe Festival possible: Willem Dafoe, The Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s The Convergence Fund, John Shannon and Jan Serr, Max Samson, and Chris Stawski.

An ode to the original Fringe Festival that brought hidden gems from the sidelines of mainstream theatre and art to the spotlight in Edinburgh in 1947, Milwaukee joins several major cities in reviving the fringe festival tradition.

The Milwaukee Fringe Festival is presented under the direction of John Schneider (Marquette University, MKE Lifestyle Magazine), and Karen Raymond and Katie Rhyme (Dance Revolution Milwaukee). The festival is produced under Nice Plays, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
